What is Gullkistan?

Gullkistan, residency for creative people at Laugarvatn, Iceland

The residency provides artists of any profession and  scholars of any profession with a unique opportunity to stay and work in the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere of Laugarvatn.

Children are welcome at Gullkistan.

Accommodation is provided in two different places:

1: Apartments in a new apartment building in the village of Laugarvatn.
2. Double rooms in the Eyvindartunga farm, very near to the village of Laugarvatn.

Common work place is provided at the farm where guests have the opportunity to meet other guests, exchange ideas and possibly cooperate.

The Laugarvatn settlement has a long tradition as a popular summer resort for people who want to relax and renew their creative energy. Being the main service area for the many surrounding summer cottages and  servicing the several hundred students who stay there during the winter, Laugarvatn has what you need to make your stay comfortable and creative.
